Japan and local partners are leading the AFRICA-ai-JAPAN project to turn a Kenyan university into a regional hub for STI in Africa. This project is facilitated by JICA and aims to improve knowledge and skills in agriculture, engineering, and ICT across Africa. The project has established collaborations with 10 African universities, including institutions in South Africa. Professor Victoria Ngumi, Vice-Chancellor of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, acknowledges the pivotal role of the project in positioning JKUAT as a leading educational and research institution in Africa.
